Organising your chats: pin, rename, branch, search and delete

Every chat has a … menu. You'll find it by hovering a chat in the sidebar, in the header while a chat is open, and next to each result on the search page.
Pin
Pins the chat to a Pinned Chats group at the top of the sidebar, above the date-grouped list. Good for the two or three conversations you keep coming back to.
Choose Unpin to remove it. Pinning isn't available for chats that belong to a project, since those are already grouped under the project.
Rename
Chats get named automatically after the first reply. Rename lets you replace that with something you'll actually recognise later. Renaming also makes the chat easier to find, since search covers titles.
Branch
Branching copies a conversation up to a chosen point into a new chat, leaving the original untouched. From there the two conversations go their separate ways.
There are three ways to branch:
Branch from here on any AI reply branches from that exact point
Branch in the … menu branches from the end of the conversation

Branched chats show a branch icon in the sidebar and in search results, and the breadcrumb at the top links back to the original. Hover it for View original chat.
Use branching when you want to:
Try a different approach without losing the one you have
Ask the same question of a different model and compare
Split off a new topic from a conversation that's drifted
Continue past a full context window. See Message length and context limits.
Branching is also the safe move before regenerating a reply, since regenerating discards everything after that point.
Share
Creates a public link to the conversation. There are two things worth knowing before you use it, namely that the link is a snapshot and that attachments are never included, so it has its own article. See Sharing a chat with a link.
Move to project
Files the chat into a project, so it picks up that project's instructions, files and memory. The submenu lists your projects, plus New project… and Remove from project. See Projects: instructions, files and memory.
Delete
Removes the chat and its messages permanently. There's a confirmation step, but no undo and no trash to recover from.
Finding an old chat
Click Search in the sidebar, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Percy Chat searches both chat titles and the text of every message, so you can find a conversation by something that was said in it, not just by what it's called.
Results show the chat title, how many messages it has, and when it was last updated, each with its own … menu so you can act without opening the chat first.
Once you have more than about 25 chats, an All Chats row appears at the bottom of the sidebar as a shortcut to the full searchable list.
