Deleting your account and exporting your data

You can delete your Percy Chat account yourself, at any time, from Settings → Account. It's immediate and permanent.

Export your data first

Percy Chat doesn't have a self-serve export button. To get a copy of your data, email help@percy.chat and ask for it in a portable format.

Request your copy and wait until you have it before deleting. Deletion is irreversible and there's no way to recover a chat afterwards, including for support.

If you only want a few specific conversations, copying them out by hand is quicker. Each reply has a Copy message button, and code blocks have their own copy button.

What deletion removes

Everything, permanently:

  • All chats and messages

  • Uploaded files and attachments

  • Generated images

  • Projects and their memory

  • Any remaining credits, with no refund, including credits you bought

  • Your subscription, cancelled immediately

Your invoices are retained for accounting purposes, as required by law. Everything else goes.

How to delete

  1. Go to Settings → Account.

  2. Scroll to Danger Zone.

  3. Click Delete Account.

  4. Type your account email address exactly as it appears on the page.

  5. Confirm.

The email confirmation exists because there is no undo, no grace period and no recovery window. Once it completes, the account is gone.

If something goes wrong

If cancelling your subscription fails, deletion stops rather than leaving you paying for an account that no longer exists:

Try again in a few minutes. If it keeps failing, email help@percy.chat.

Alternatives to deleting

Just want to stop paying? Cancel your subscription instead, from Settings → Account → Manage Plan. You keep your account, your chats and everything in them, and drop to the Free plan at the end of the period you've paid for. See Plans and pricing.

Just want to clear your history? Delete individual chats from the … menu, and uploaded files from Settings → File Attachments. Your account stays.

Worried about a share link? Turn links off from Settings → Shared Links without deleting anything. See Sharing a chat with a link.

Your privacy rights

Percy Chat doesn't use your conversations to train AI models. Your chats are visible only to you unless you deliberately create a share link.
