Sharing a chat with a link

You can turn any chat into a link that anyone can open, with no Percy Chat account needed. Two things to know before you do.
A share link is a snapshot. Messages you send after sharing stay private until you choose to update the link.
Attachments are never shared. Files and images you uploaded are withheld, and visitors see a note saying how many were left out.
Creating a link
Open the chat's … menu and choose Share.
Read the summary and click Share.
The link is created and copied to your clipboard. The dialog then shows the URL with buttons to copy it again or open it, and the date you shared it.
Anyone with the link can read the conversation. They can't edit it, regenerate replies, or see anything you send afterwards.
Keeping a link current
Because the link is frozen at the moment you shared it, continuing the conversation doesn't change what visitors see. When there are newer messages, the share dialog tells you:
3 newer messages aren't shared yet Update the link to include them.
Click Update to extend the snapshot to the whole conversation. The URL stays the same, so anyone you've already sent it to sees the new version.
This is a feature, not a limitation. You can share a conversation, keep working in it privately, and decide later whether to publish the rest.
What visitors see
A read-only version of the chat at the shared URL. There's one action available to them: Continue this chat.
That forks the conversation into their own Percy Chat account, where they can carry on from where you left off without touching your original. If they aren't signed in, they're sent to sign in first, and the chat is waiting when they come back.
Shared pages are marked so search engines don't index them. They aren't secret, though. Anyone with the URL can open it, and they can pass it on. Treat a share link as public.
Turning a link off
One chat: open Share again (the menu now reads Manage Shared) and click Unshare. The link stops working immediately.
All at once: go to Settings → Shared Links for every chat you've shared, with the date. Each row lets you copy the link, open the shared page, jump to the chat, or unshare it. Unshare all at the bottom right turns off every link in one go.
Unsharing doesn't delete anything. Your chat is untouched, and you can share it again later, though it'll be a new link.
